| | Transit visa
Hello everyone
I have a question concerning transit visa.
I have an Iranian passport and I live in Switzerland with a C permit(diplomatic permit).
I'm planning to go to Iran via London Heathrow.
I want to know if I need a transit visa or not?

Err, wouldn't it be easiest just to ask the airline? I think it might depend on whether you need to change terminais, which wouldn't normally be required if it's the same airline for both legs, but I'm sure they will be easily able to answer your question.

It might be wise to check with both the airline and with your UN agency/NGO/embassy (whichever one it is that gave you the diplomatic permit).

But I will surly ask the airline.
Thanks. | Quote: | | | | | AFAIK, if you have a diplomatic permit then you have a Ci, not a C (which is for permanent residence). I am not sure if the Ci qualifies under the exemption of holding a "common format residence permit" from Switzerland.

But wait - do you have a diplomatic passport as well? If so then you don't need a visa, according to this doc.
Edit - This document (page 67) makes me believe that your legitimation card does qualify for exemption. But again, to be safe you want to make sure your airline agrees.

But you're right the document does say
list of residence permits".
I'll ask anyways it's the best way to make sure.
Thank you very much for you're help.

Can i also travel to Ghana through Heathrow (transit) with my B work permit?

Whether Ghana requires paperwork is another issue. As always, double-check with your airline.
