Chances of Getting B permit after renewal of L permit twice for a NON-EU

Hello All,

I am a Non-EU, with a L permit staying in Switzerland (Bern canton) from past 17 Months
Initially when I entered Switzerland I was issued a L permit for 6 months
After 6 months my L permit was extended for 1 more year,
Now my permit expires in August 2008 (Means i will complete my 18 months stay in switzerland by August 2008) and I am applying for an extension of My L-permit for one more year in August.
As I have read from so many posts & in the websites that L-permit can be extended for a maximum period of 24 months for a non-EU,

So can anyone tell me, whether I will be recieving an non-EU L-permit again after renewal or I will recieve an non-EU B-Permit.

Thank you for the answers in advance
