Timing and cost will depend on where you live. I think I paid CHF 85 for my permits, canīt remember honestly.

Re: L permit for job seeking

I don't think you'll be able to renew it. The rules are changing, this is what is stated now on the ch.ch website:

EU/EFTA nationals may enter Switzerland to look for work. They may stay in the country for up to three months without a permit. If the job search takes longer than three months, EU/EFTA nationals may apply for a temporary residence permit valid for three months within any calendar year (total stay = six months), provided they have the financial means to pay their living expenses.

https://www.ch.ch/en/working-switzer...in-switzerland

This seems to be confirmed by this from the Federal Goverment's website:

The L EU/EFTA permit is issued to foreign workers who are in possession of an employment contract valid from three months to one year as well as to jobseekers wishing to stay in Switzerland for up to three months.

https://www.sem.admin.ch/dam/data/se...icht-fza-e.pdf

Constant renewal of a jobseeker's L permit is no longer going to happen. You've had 6 months and not been successful so try somewhere else now seems to be the Swiss view.

Re: L permit for job seeking

Many thanks for this.
I have had a L permit for 6 months as I had a 6 months contract. So now I am looking into renewing it for job hunting. So far I haven't used any time on L permit for job seeking

Re: L permit for job seeking

Not really. You can apply for a 3 months L permit as a job seeker, but you knew that already. If you can financially support yourself while you job hunt you'll get the permit, if you can't you won't.

Re: L permit for job seeking

I think you just go and ask for it. If they need you to fill in a form they'll give it to you then.
