Non EU / L Permit / Extension 1 going on extension 2

Hi All,

My permit expires end of May however I was able to appeal and the permit extended now to end of June.

Having received this notice to stay until June, I also have the option to appeal again but this time it will go to a different office. One thing I noticed through translating this is that if I lose the appeal I have to pay a fee????

Does anyone know what this fee is and how much? does this apply to appeal losses of permit extension?

Around 1,600 francs so it says. Google translate:

"Recourse Division of the Security Directorate

The recourse department is directly subordinated to the director of the directorate and, according to his instructions, handles the appeals against orders from the authorities belonging to the security department. Within the framework of the recourse procedure, both the correct application of the law and the proper exercise of the powers of the authorities are reviewed. The decisions of the Board of Appeal may be challenged with appeal to the Administrative Court.

The recourse department handles around 900 appeals each year. It is mainly a case of proceedings against foreigners' injunctions of the Immigration Office and against the administrative measures of the Road Traffic Office.

The recourse procedure is usually payable. If a recourse is approved or withdrawn, there will be no costs for the recruiting party. Under certain circumstances, the party receiving the damages will be charged with the loss of the party. If a recourse is rejected, the recurring party is usually charged the procedural costs of around 1,600 francs. Anyone who does not have a means beyond the employer's minimum subsistence level can apply for the free of charge process, provided that the appeal does not appear to be hopeless. In the case of a challenging case, a free legal counsel may be appointed under the same conditions. Unpaid legal services and free legal assistance are granted only if a corresponding application is made."

Re: Non EU / L Permit / Extension 1 going on extension 2

Why not? Do you think permit appeals are different from any other appeals?

The document makes it quite clear to anyone that IF they want to take an appeal further then they risk having to pay the procedural costs if they lose. So you have a choice: you either decide not to appeal further and your permit finishes at the end of June or you appeal and risk losing and having to pay for the appeal.
