facilitated naturalisation interview questions?

Hi everyone,

my husband has sent off his facilitated naturalisation form yesterday, and it's been delivered. Yay!

He's British, and he's got a C1 German certificate, works for the canton of Zurich, and studies at UZH. He's involved with our church and the Cevi in our village. So, we believe he's well integrated. He knows about the history of Switzerland and the canton of Zurich.

Now, we think he'll get my Heimatsort, which is in Aargau, he and I have been there once, together, and we don't know much about it. My dad was born in Aargau, but grew up in Zurich City, so doesn't know tons about it either.

We're guessing he might be asked questions about Aargau during his interview? Would his interview be in Aargau, instead of our Kantonspolizei Zurich? I mean, we'll happily learn more about it, but it is kinda unfortunate that we don't have much to do with it. Like, my grandparents from my mum's side were from Graubünden and Thurgau, and we know a lot about those places. But my dad's parents got divorced when he was little & he literally wanted nothing to do with him and anything that could be related with him, like Aargau.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Did any of you get interviewed about the Heimatsort?

Also, he handed in a seperate sheet for all his references. He put 5 couples and 2 individuals down. Friends, family, his manager & put like a relationship status as well.

How long did it take for you until you were first contacted? Will they interview me? Is it going to be like a Men in Black type of thing and we won't know anything about it?

Re: facilitated naturalisation interview questions?

Lots of threads/posts on this, but happy to give you a snapshot of what I went through (Although I am certain it will vary from commune to commune).

The interview at the Police Station was the only interview I had after filing, it was in French. They walked me through my educational career and how I ended up in Switzerland and my connection/expériences within the region. I think it was an hour long perhaps. That was it.

No specific probging questions they read off but perhaps more of a way to get an idea of how integrated you are combined with your command of the local language

Sounds like your husband will have no problems. Good luck!

Yes, I have read a lot of threads on here, but just kinda wanted to make sure. It's literally the first day of him being able to apply for citizenship, and we thought they might be suspicious cos of Brexit and all sorts. He's been looking forward to applying for a few years now, so I do hope it'll all go well.

Thank you so much for replying
