Re: "D" VISA process timing

It takes as long as it takes, but that does seem to be a long time. Have you contacted them to find out what's happening? Sometimes things get put aside and forgotten about.

Re: "D" VISA process timing

School authority has nothing to do with it once they've said you're accepted to study at the school. You apply for a student permit and Type D visa at the Swiss embassy/consulate and they pass the paperwork on to the authorities here to decide. If the student permit is granted then the Type D visa (which is only for entry into Switzerland for more than 90 days) will be issued and stamped in your passport. Contact the Swiss embassy/consulate and see if they can tell you what your application's status is.

Re: "D" VISA process timing

Hey..... I asked to Embassy about delay reason ...they replied me that embassy is not responsible for your case ...you have requested to contact your school or university who expedite your process.

Re: "D" VISA process timing

Contact the school I guess, but it seems strange. Usually all the school does is issue a document to say you've been accepted to study there. It's up to you to apply for the student permit and the Type D visa at the embassy/consulate including the acceptance document from the school as part of the supporting paperwork. Never heard of the school doing the permit applications on behalf of students.

Is this just a straight student application or are you doing a PhD - which would probably require the school to apply for the permit?

Hello,

Have you received your Visa? I would like to know if you were given a receipt on submitting the application at Embassy that can be used to track status of your application?
