Swiss L Permit and D Visa

Hi All,

I have trolled this site and have 2 questions that don't seem to have been answered.

1. My company applied for a permit for me, which has been approved (Non-EU L permit). They sent me the ZEMIS number and said I need to fill in a D visa form and take it to the embassy to get the entry visa. However, on the local Swiss embassy site, it states that the D visa processing time is 8 -12 weeks. Do I really have to wait this long after almost 7 months of back and forth with the authorities to have my entry visa processed?

2. I obviously want to take my wife over with me, so we will apply for a family reunification permit for her. Does my company have to do this, or is this something that we can do on our own?

Thanks!

I am an absolute tool - the D visa only takes 1 working day once it has been approved. The forms that I was looking at was for a D visa for a student that has not applied for a permit yet. Helps to actually phone the embassy
