Be a bit difficult as he wants to bring his family with him.
It has not been explained though who the family members are!

Since when has family only meant spouse and children?

Could just as well be siblings that want to come with him...

Re: Sponsoring my nephew

When it comes to non-EU nationals bringing family members here - only spouse/registered partner and children under the age of 18. Siblings wouldn't be allowed. And I would have thought the OP would have said "sponser nephews", "sponor nephew and nieces" or "sponsor nephews and nieces" when posting, not "nephew and his family".

Until the OP clarifies though it remains ambiguous and you can only presume what's meant...

Until the nephew introduces you to a room full of people that are his brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, step mother and her mother, oh yes and their florist, all of who are his 'family' and all of who want to come over here as well....

Moot point because, as said, they wouldn't be allowed. And as most have pointed out here can't be sponsored for anything but a visit IF the Swiss national moves here - certainly not sponsoring for a permanent move.

Yes, and it is clear that family reunification doesn´t work as extended family are not in scope for that part of the law

The point is until the OP confirms he is already married, my suggestion of him marrying here in CH is still a possibility.

Are you advocating getting married here just because of the permit? You know that that will be scrutinized and that any permit/citizenship can be revoked if the marriage was a scam?

I never advocated it. I just said it is could be a possibility. If this nephew (or anyone else for that matter) finds the right person here. Why not get married? It may simplify things with immigration.

Citizenship could only be revoked if the marriage was actually discovered to be a sham one within a certain number of years of citizenship being granted. However I am not advocating sham marriages. Not all marriages are sham marriages!

The OP's profile only gives limited information about the OP. It is the nephew of the OP who wishes to come to CH.

We don't know if the nephew is married or not until the OP gives us this information.

Still, if OP is an immigration officer (retired) and Swiss, it should be fairly easy to find out what is possible and what not.

That has nothing to do with the discussion!

Again, it is not the OP who wishes to be able to get into Switzerland, it is the nephew!

What makes you think that the OP is asking on behalf of her nephew, given her position?
