Family reunion VISA - Applied from India

Hello All,

I hold a D permit and have applied for Family reunion VISA for my wife and son. They appeared before the Swiss Embassy, New Delhi on 26-Jul. I would really appreciate if someone can let me know:

1. What are the next steps?
2. Do I need to do anything from my side i.e. submit additional documents to migration office in Zurich?
3. How much time does in take to get the VISA?
4. Is there any way I can expedite the process.

I am based out of Zurich and work for an IT company.

Thank you in advance for your support and information!

Kaushik

The D visa is for entry. What permit do you have? L?

With an L permit you have no right to family reunification, it can be granted though. You will find several threads here on that topic. Time frame: it all depends and no, there is no way to speed it up (rather than starting with delivering all requested documents).

2. Only if they ask for them.
3. It takes as long as it takes.
4. No, you just have to wait.

Re: Family reunion VISA - Applied from India

As others mentioned just wait for a letter from Zurich immigration Office in which they will ask you to pay some fees (95 CHF, if i remember correctly) and then they will issue entry Permit for your son and your wife.

i got this within a month but i read for some it takes up to 6 month.

Good luck.
