Quick update:
I couldn't make the biometric exam they scheduled me, which was today and tried numerous times to cancel since I am not in Switzerland at this time. I tried to cancel via online, by phone numerous days and my fiance visited their office twice. I contacted a gentleman via technical help via the de-maurche website and he confirmed they are having issues. I will be in Geneva for two weeks so I'm hoping I can reschedule for then.
Wedding ceremony is scheduled for Monday, November 27th and I couldn't be happier. I will stay in Switzerland for two weeks then return to the states to finish up some loose-ends. This may take a month or two and hope I have no trouble re-entering Switzerland at that time. Wondering if I need anything at that time other than my regular passport?
Thanks for all the knowledge I received from this forum!

Yes! A document from the cantonal migration office to say that your Swiss permit is being processed. Otherwise you won't be able to get back into the country.
Frankly, if possible, I'd wait here until the permit is issued to you before going back to the States. A month or two is a long time and I don't know how long the Swiss temporary document would be valid for. Your visa is only good for the one entry so won't valid any more. But again, check on the document's length of validity with the Geneva migration office.

Worse case, I could come back for another visit before everything is settled stateside and before my temporary Swiss document expires. Would that work you think?

| | Re: Marriage and Family reunification visa response time | Quote: | | | | | Does anyone know of delays within the immigration office? It's now been over 12 weeks and we haven't heard anything. Our attorney in Geneva sent them a request 2 weeks ago for the status and he hasn't heard anything back either.
Was wondering... | | | | | Hi sjr,
My fiancée and myself are in a similar situation. We have been waiting for a response from the immigration office for too long and we would like to move things forward. Would you kindly share your attorney’s name so I can contact them and possibly get their help writing a letter to the immigration office?
Thanks so much in advance!
I know this thread has been idled for a long time and I’m sorry I revive it (I really wish I didn’t need to)!
