I hope to find some answers regarding administrative processing . I got cap exempt H1B approval and applied for Visa at Bern. After the interview, the consular gave me the passport and handed me a 221g form and wrote administrative processing. He didn't ask me any other documents. Now its 4 weeks and no updates. Do you think it is because I am from India and applying it here? I work in Lausanne.

I am concerned for how many days/ month it will take. Can't plan anything until I know the outcome.

Does anyone of you had an experience like mine?

You might want to search around for US Immigration fora. When we lived in the US and were doing visa processing for my husband, the US immigration forum on usenet was a great source of info. I've no idea what it's morphed into now, though. Good luck. US immigration, visas are a special kind of hell.

Does your employer (future employer) in the US have any insight into this?

Yes, because they can't know all about you from swiss so that they need to contact India and it takes time

Hi kutties, I am in a similar situation and I am from India too. Did you finally get your visa and how long did it take? Also, btw were you working in one of the technology alert list areas e.g. like biotechnology or computer security/cryptography?
