Hello everyone. I am thinking about to work in Geneva so I need some information about work permits in this city. Can someone please tell me, do international companies in Geneva help their new workers with getting work permit? Let’s Say Russian company Rosneft (I am interested in this company). Does this company do so?

Very generally speaking: if you are from the EU, you can apply for the permit yourself. If you are not from the EU (or Switzerland), the employer needs to apply for your permit.

I am not from EU.
As I understood from your message does it mean that all Private companies in Geneva can apply for my permit or are there any companies that can’t apply for permit for their workers. I mean in my opinion it doesn’t make sense that company can’t apply for permit otherwise how can I work for that company and live in Geneva.

If you are not from the EU or Switzerland, the employer will need to show that they could not find someone from EU/CH and now want to hire a non-EU person. Nothing to do with a company being private but rather with your nationality.

You need to have a university degree and several years of experience. It will cost your potential employer time and money to prove their case so unless they think they have a good chance of success they simply won't bother to apply.

To come back to your original question, if you have a job offer from an international company, HR will generally do all the admin associated with getting a work permit for you, in my experience.
