British citizen fly in fly out 3 months work in Switzerland

Hello members,

I am a UK resident and citizen, got a job offered in Bern and Lengnau, Monday fly in, Friday fly out type, initial duration 90 days, may be extended. My client is based in UK, I will invoice them, they will invoice to Suiss client. Can I use my UK based company for such a job. do I need to get any permit, or apply to anything?

Many thanks in advance.

If you want to work here in Switzerland, you need to register here and apply for residence permit (either L or B depending upon the period of your job contract)- https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home...t/eu_efta.html

G permit if you are a cross border worker (France, Germany, Austria..)- https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home...g_eu_efta.html.

For short term work (less than 90 days a year), there are are separate guidelines - https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home...verfahren.html

Sound like your employer wants to send you to their client site on a `business` trip and invoice them as a contract worker. As an EU citizen you can visit Switerland for 90 days. Looks like your UK based employer is using this loophole to employ you `illegally`..

What's illegal about it? He can use the short notification registration for the initial 90 days. If the contract extends then he may be able to apply for a G permit. He/the company should contact the relevant cantonal migration office to make sure if the contract needs to go beyond the 90 days since a G permit is for people employed by a Swiss employer. A UK company employer wouldn't qualify.

EU citizens (excluding Croatians) do not need to live in a bordering country to get a G permit. They just need to return regularly to their country of domicile.
