Family reunification for Swiss / non-EU. Based on salary or not??

Hi. Let's say I'm a Swiss citizen, and I decide to marry a Thai citizen inside of Thailand. Let's say I know this person for about 1.5 years.

When I go back to Switzerland, if I can prove that I have adequate accommodation AND I am an employee..would my wife in principle be allowed to join me in Switzerland under 'Family Reunification' regardless of what my monthly income is?

Because that's what is says in this thingy, if I'm reading it right:
https://www.sem.admin.ch/dam/data/se...nnachzug-e.pdf

"Anyone wishing to bring his/her family to Switzerland must have suitable accommodation. An
accommodation is deemed suitable if it reflects typical living conditions of Swiss citizens.
If the main entitled person is an employee, then the right to family reunification is not contingent
upon that person's financial situation. Self-employed persons or economically inactive persons
may only apply for family reunification if they have the necessary financial means to support these
family members.
"

Based on that, I don't understand why I remember seeing a lot of posts (here and elsewhere) where people claimed that a certain salary had to be shown in order for 'Family Reunification' to take place between husband and wife.

So is this a new thingy, or has it changed over time? Please enlighten me! Because to me it looks like only self-employed or unemployed must show finances?!

Did you actually check all those threads to see if the financial situation was the only reason? Or was there something else as well.

Another document here:

https://www.sem.admin.ch/content/dam...nnachzug-e.pdf

And yes, theoretically you don't have to show your salary, an employment contract should be enough. But neither are the Swiss going to be particularly happy if you bring a dependent here and then start claiming social aid because you don't have the financial resources to support them, even if you are a Swiss national.

They may also query whether the marriage is genuine - which has nothing to do with your financial situation.

In any case, to get a Type D visa for your Thai wife you will have to provide supporting financial documentation. See the visa application form:

You will have to demonstrate that the marriage is sincere, rather than concluded just to get a residence permit for your OH.

Same way everyone else does. Apply for family reunification and wait to hear yes or no.

Your statement above says you're EU but your profile says you're Indian (non-EU) there are different rules so it would be good if you could clarify that.
