Non EU with B permit, married to Non EU working, work in a different canton

Hello,
I've searched other threads and there are a lot on B permits but I didn't find my particular situation and threads that were close were dated (e.g. https://www.englishforum.ch/permits-...rmit-work.html). I also checked the stickied threads and didn't find my question (e.g. https://www.englishforum.ch/permits-...et-points.html). I hope it's okay that I then ask this.

I am a non EU (American) married to another American. She works and I received my B permit through her. The permits are issued by the canton of Luzern, but her company site is located in canton Zug (with other locations in Zurich, Basel, etc.). My permit states "familiennachzug mit erwerbstätigkeit" i.e. "family reunification with gainful employment" on it.

I interviewed for a position last week at an international company in Zuerich and the recruiter stated it will be important to clarify whether I have a "B work permit or regular permit", as the position isn't available to those with regular B permits. I've already read that since my permit says "with gainful employment", I'm allowed to work, but my questions are:

- Since my permit is through canton Luzern and the position is in canton Zuerich, does that impact my permissions to work or the efforts by the company to get me hired (e.g. justification to the Zuerich migration office)? In what way?

- Is there any documentation I can obtain in advance and provide to the recruiter as evidence/justification for being able to work? (beyond the permit itself)

I'm not sure if the position or my experience matters to this situation, but I am a scientist with 20+ years experience.

Thanks for responding if you know the answer to these questions.

Sounds like the recruiter has no idea what they're talking about. B permits are B permits, there are no regular or work types. Anyone who has a B permit is allowed to work, the only difference is whether the permit says "avec activitée lucrative" on the back as yours does or not. As you're a non-EU national Zurich canton may need to grant a new permit.

Ah okay thanks for the feedback. No wonder I couldn't find information about it. This is reassuring.

I had the reverse situation for a while, living in Zurich but working in Luzern, both of us on non EU B permits. It was no problem at all.
