Moving to switzerland customs etc

Hi everyone,

Im moving to Switzerland from the uk. I'm wondering if anyone could provide me with an example of an inventory for entering Switzerland. We are loading up a van with all our stuff and my husband will drive the van across.

I have a lot of old stuff from my family and would like to know how specific I should be.

Can I write down simply cutlery x amount of pieces or do I have to be more spcific.

Does it need to say how many pieces of each or not?

Thanks for your replies.

Re: Moving to switzerland customs etc

You do not have to specify how many spoons, forks, plates, cups etc.. you have, just write down "Box 5: Cutlery, Plates and cups" "Box 6: Pans" "Box 7 - Kitchen tools" "Box 8 - Kitchen machines (Mixer, Deepfryer, Blender)" "Box 9: books" "Box 10: Clothing" etc...

A bed is just a bed, a chair just a chair, with a bicycle you also name the model and year, with the telly, laptop, Photocamera etc.. you state the model.

Just make a clear list, and keep the bills for purchasing stuff someplace easily reachable in case they want to check if you indeed had items long enough in your possession to import duty-free. On the small/old simple normal household things they absolutely do not care.
