Moving to Switzerland

Hi.
Me and my wife are leaving currently in UK but would love to move to Switzerland. With what do I start, what do I need to move to Switzerland?

Nothing to do with cleverless, a lot with the fact that hundreds of posts are on the forum answering exactly your question.

Re: Moving to Switzerland

If you're a kickass sought-after specialist, then
- start looking for a job.

If you're just an average Joe, then
- start looking for a job, AND
- start learning the language of the part you want to move to.

Don't be misled by seemingly high salaries here; life here is commensurately expensive; so if for example you own your place in UK, in 99% you'd be better off (financially) staying there.

Re: Moving to Switzerland

You say you're in the UK at the moment, well a lot depends on your nationality, then if you qualify to live here get a job and move. But as others have said, there is a wealth of info on this forum about how to move here, just do a simple search and start browsing.

Use the search feature. This question has been asked and answered thousands of times on here.

Once you've read at least a couple of the more recent threads feel free to ask your specific questions.

Re: Moving to Switzerland

Plenty of info on the forum re this, but in short ideally have skills/experience that are in demand here.

As an EU national (I assume) you can be here for up to 3 months to job hunt without having to register as being a resident. If you haven't found a job in that time then you can apply for a job seeker L permit for another 3 months providing you have the funds to support yourself.

Bear in mind that the Swiss are in the process of changing how permits are granted and kept. If you want to live here long term, then you're going to have to become integrated, i.e. speak the cantonal language, be an active member of your commune/gemeinde community, belong to local clubs, etc.

This is due to come in later this year.
