Student visa to marriage for non EU

Hello all,
I'm Swiss and I was spending a lot of time in Russia for work. Thanks to that, since long time I have a Russian girlfriend living and working in Russia.

Now she will come for some months in Switzerland to study (student visa) with the target to improve her career in Russia.
She will live with me here in that period with the plan to go back and get a new job right after the study.

She ignore it, but in my head begun to grow the idea to do a marriage proposal while she is here

In case I bring my idea further, she say yes and she decide to stay here(); what is possible to do to avoid that she has to go back for long time in Russia?

Re: Student visa to marriage for non EU

Quite simple. You get married and she applies for a family reunification permit. She'll get a B permit, renewed annually assuming the marriage lasts.

https://www.ch.ch/en/family-reunification-eu-efta (rules for Swiss nationals will be almost the same)

If the marriage doesn't last then on divorce she'll lose the right to live/work here unless any employer she may have is willing to apply for a non-EU permit on her behalf.

Same story. I came one year ago as a student from a non-EU country, we saw that the things are fine so far and now we are collecting papers to get married soon. What you need to know is mentioned in Medea Fleecestealer's post but feel free to contact me for the details.

Hi! Could you please say how long is the whole process from application to the allowed ceremony date?
Thank you!

Paper work doesn’t take long but finding a date for ceremony is the problem. Depends where you want to do the ceremony, it can take three months or more. When you got luck in 2-3 weeks, you can be married.
