Help me to fill the 18.44 form

Hi,
sorry for this long message.

I'm relocating with my family from Romania to Zurich and decided to handle the relocation part by myself.
We'll be coming to Zurich this week, with my car (I bought it 3 years ago, not sure if I want to change the romanian plates yet) and we'll bring with this car a couple of boxes with clothes, children toys, a couple of books, some medical devices (e.g. nebulizer for the child) and a very old laptop
Basically, everything is older than 6 months (ok, perhaps some books were purchased this month, does it matter??).

This will be the first transport of our goods, the next ones should come in the subsequent months, but have no idea when.
Now, I want to fill in the 18.44 form and declare the car and the goods we're taking with us.

1) So, for the car, I filled "Skoda Octavia 1Z AACAYCX01" for the "Art, Marke und Typ (Type, make and model)" but I'm not sure if this is what they want.
The car is a Skoda Octavia 2 with facelift. Can you give me a link to a sample 18.44 form?

2) Also, for the personal goods, what should I write? Smth like 4 boxes with clothes, 2 boxes with shoes, 7 books, 1 nebulizer, 1 laptop from 2014?

3) We're also bringing some medicines with us (OTC). Do we need to declare smth like this?

4) The car and the personal goods need to be declared on the same form?

5) Is there a limit to the total value of these goods ? I read somewhere that if it exceeds 300CHF/person you have to pay duty?

6) Do I need to have the filled 18.44 form printed before arriving at the customs office ?

7) What if we don't know in advance the data of the next transports? We just know that they should be done until Dec/Jan.

8) We plan to enter Switzerland from Germany? Are there any customs that are open 24/7 ?

9) The form also states that "the Swiss residence permit, except for immigrants from the first 25 EU states and from the EFTA states". However, Romania, although in EU, is not in the 25 EU states. I have an employment contract at a large IT company in Zurich and also a temporary rent, but didn't receive a residence permit. Do I need to worry about this??

Thank you in advance.

The 18.44 form, even with english preface:
https://www.ezv.admin.ch/dam/ezv/de/...edlungsgut.pdf

Basically it says there are no "value" limits for import, except for alcohol, as long as they can be interpreted as "household effects". Romania does not belong to the "first 25 EU states", it's under the last +3 to complete the 28, so you have to include the swiss residence permit (copy). I would definitely put attention on that point and clarify it in full in advance. There was/is a special, transitional agreement between Switzerland and the EU regarding the immigrants from Romania and Bulgaria, allowing restrictions up to 2019.

The form is very much self-explaining, english translation is enclosed.

Re: Help me to fill the 18.44 form

Thank you for your reply.
I contacted the HR department and they said that I would get the residence permit once I am in Switzerland.
Looking at the FAQ page , if I don't have all the documents, then "the customs office will proceed with provisional clearance of the consignment and a guarantee will be required. After the required documents have been submitted within a deadline of six (6) months, the guarantee will be refunded after a handling fee has been deducted."
Does anyone know how this guarantee is computed?

Thanks.

Re: Help me to fill the 18.44 form

My interpetation is quite clear. In the form they write:
"If the Customs Office has doubts as to the right to duty-free clearance, the household goods can be provisionally
cleared through customs, in which case a guarantee must be given for the import duties and the proof
required must be submitted to the customs office within the deadline imposed."
The government is mainly concerned about the custom duties. As long your "household goods" do not include 10 brandnew Iphones or 5 TV sets presumed to be resold, I don't think there will be problems.

Custom duties in general in Switzerland are composed solely or mainly by the VAT / UST (MWST) which is 7.7%. So I ASSUME the guarantee to be deposited will be around those 7.7% of the estimated value of your entire "household goods". Why not calling them, I'm confident they can explain in detail.
