B permit non EU marrying a Swiss

Hi, I tried to search for this topic but not quite sure so I'd like to confirm the follows:

1. I have a permit B now tieing to my job. Will I get a permit C if i marry my swiss bf?

2. If I marry my Swiss bf and like what I read in some threads, I will get a permit B but count from 0 again after I married , is this correct?

3. I can only do a simple naturalization for passport after 5 years of the after married. Is this correct?

Thank you for your patience and help.

Re: B permit non EU marrying a Swiss

1. No (but B untied to job)
2. Yes (for becoming a Swiss citizen, it is.. which, I hope, isn't your only intention of marrying him..)
3. Yes

Re: B permit non EU marrying a Swiss

Thank you so much.

I love him so much. But seems getting marry makes my years longer. If I still hold my permit B then I already had 3 years. But after marry I need to start from 0 again to get the C permit....

I am thinking if it's not getting marry is better.

Re: B permit non EU marrying a Swiss

AFAIK, your clock would not reset for C permit if your permit has been continuous.

If you've been here for 3 continuous years on a B permit and get married, you get another B that renews annually. Hold that for 2 years and then apply for C once you reach 5 years.

Stay married for 3 years, living together, with no intent to separate, and you can apply for facilitated naturalization. The rule is 3 years married, 5 years living in Switzerland. In your case, you'd be married 3 years and living here for 6.

For many people, 5 years married =5 years living here, but that's not everyone.

Re: B permit non EU marrying a Swiss

I believe 3Wishes is exactly right. As long as your BF is an official Swiss citizen at the time of possible marriage than the rule states - married 3 years with no intention of separation and you have lived in Switzerland 5 years.

"For many people, 5 years married =5 years living here, but that's not everyone."

In my particular case I was married to my wife in the United States for a bit before I moved here, so 5 years of marriage will happen for myself before 5 years of living here will. Been here 4 years now
