Unless you are financial independent, it probably will depend on your salary and the exchange rate going forward.

Re: Swiss national family but I知 a Brit

Depends on who is the main breadwinner... and their salary level.

My personal observation/rule of thumb is to assume Swiss living costs at least 1/3 to 1/2 more than UK. (Caveat - In UK I do not live in London, but in CH I do live in Zurich).

So if you are, and earn say 4k GBP net per month in UK, you might be comfortable now. But your salary will only go 2/3rds as far in CH.

Of course, if she's the main breadwinner and gets a job here, that might balance it up as the salary might be higher to compensate.

YMMV. But take it from me - many everyday things here are eyewateringly expensive by comparison. And do not forget, here you HAVE to pay for health insurance, which you are also paying for in UK. That's several hundred a month, each.

Regards

Ian

Re: Swiss national family but I知 a Brit

Thanks for the replies, I知 very much familiar with Swiss prices, each year I go there my eyes water more! My wife will be the main bread winner to start with until my German improves but she should earn reasonably well as a stats school teacher. I just like my job here and my company but have read the Swiss system can be complicated with remote working, maybe I知 wrong.

No experience of remote working, but the only complications I could see are from the tax point of view. That will probably depend on the type of contract you have. Maybe it is worth opening a swiss subsidiary for your company
