Direct B permit applied from India..Chances of getting B or L ?

Hi All,

I read many of the posts related to this topic and wanted to clarify couple of points.

I work in one of the reputed Indian company and work for a client in Geneva in Banking industry. I have stayed on L 2 times earlier .My last stay in Geneva was from 2013 to 2015. L to B was not applied and I had to return to my home country.

Currently due to my client's pressure and from the the company's management need, they have applied for my B directly ,

1. I have a valid contract for 12 months.
2. I have a salary above 110,000 CHF
3. I have a total Industry experience of 12+ years.

Will this qualify to get a direct B for a Non-EU manager/technical person? and if I don't get B will I get my L permit atleast?

Thanks a lot for the response!

Regards,
Praveen

It all depends on which type of and how many permits are available at the time of your application. As it's a limited contract - 12 months , the best you can get is an L even though the intention is to get a B - harsh reality.

Re: Direct B permit applied from India..Chances of getting B or L ?

Thanks for the response Ankur. I am not worried about this fact(Although getting B will be beneficial! ).Its neither in my hand now.

Another quick question, As I have not applied for my dependents together ( I got my marriage certificate and daughter's birth certificate legalized once my application is applied) , I need to wait until i reach Geneva for family to get their approval or Is there a wayout ?

My application was filed on 19th or 20th Dec 2018. how many weeks usually it would take for getting the approval letter ?

Regards,

Praveena Saya

If your contract is a one year contract you will most likely get another L permit. You really need an indefinite contract from a B.

Thanks MiniMia anyway I will have to wait for receiving my Pie . BTW how much time it would take for getting first approval and if applied as B , the processing time is more?

I assume for applying for dependents i would have to wait until I receive my visa right?

Waiting time is the same. Your dependents should be submitted with your application.

It might take 6 - 8 weeks for you to get an answer.
Regarding dependent permit , things have really changed in the last couple of years. If you have not already applied with yours then you would have to get your permit first , an apartment contract i.e. suitable accommodation to host your family and only then can you apply for family re-unification.
It might take anywhere between 2 - 3 months for your family to join provided you manage to get a suitable apartment contract

Hi MiniMia,

Does this mean that I can still apply as my permit approval is still in progress or when my approval comes. Yes I will have a company provided house in geneva. So I have no issues with that. But my company travel department told I have to apply now once my visa is stamped. THe delay mainly cause I had to wait for my wife and kids marriage and birth certificate to be legalized.

Regards,
Praveen

Ankurm,

Does this mean I can't apply atleast after my approval is done. My parent company is providing a 2 BHK house in Geneva.. So thats not an issue for me as such.

Everyone should have been submitted together to avoid that your wife and child need to wait more time. If you have already submitted your application without them, I don't know what you can do now, if you can add them or if you need to wait.

It used to be a norm a couple of years back mainly for Non EU Indians to travel without family , get the permit and apartment and then apply for family re-unification. Travel desks in Indian companies never applied for the family together - not really sure the situation nowadays.

More information here.

https://www.vfsglobal.ch/switzerland...ification.html

Applicants who want to stay more than 90 days with family members in Switzerland have to apply for a Family Reunification visa.

There are the two following possibilities:

direct submission of the request at the competent cantonal migration authority in Switzerland (time frame approx. 8 - 12 weeks) or
submission of the application at the Swiss representation abroad - the application will be forwarded to the competent cantonal migration authorities for decision (time frame approx. 8 - 12 weeks)
