| | Re: My Facilitated Naturalization application experience
Hi guys,
Here is my very long process:
- Applied in March 2019
- Got the bill to pay in April 2019 and paid it right away
- Heard nothing until end of February 2020 that they said my language certificate is not accepted (I had attached my lB1 certificated that I had got from UniBe which is a federal university). So I registered for Fide exam in April 2020 that due to COVID was cancelled.
- In early July 2020 took the exam finally and submitted my results by end of July to SEM
- In January 2021 canton Zurich sent me again the forms that what is my status and ... (everything that I already had submitted to SEM)
- In February 2021 they asked me for an interview in early March 2021
- In June 2021 SEM sent me 2 forms that I am not violating the public security and no intention to divorce or separate and OF COURSE my tax statements and betreibungs statement
- Few days ago have received a letter from SEM that my requested has been accepted and during 30 days my Heimatsort has the right to object. After that I can go to the Gemeinde where I live to ask for my Swiss documents
Cheers

Putting a marker for my experience.
- Applied end of June 2021, received the 900.- bill which I paid at once.
Now waiting for the next step.
Married 6 years to a Swiss, I speak fluently FR and DE, I am a firefighter in my local town. Should nicely tick the integration box.

Hello!
I have been going under the process in Canton of Vaud.
I submitted my application in October 2020
Had my interview (via zoom) in June
Got the SEM approval with the letter that the file was sent to the Canton of my wife (Ticino) and this was 26 July.
I have not heard back or gotten any further communication.
I wanted to check do we have to contact the commune ourselves on the expiry of this 30 day period or will SEM another official letter ?

It is end of 7 weeks since I received that letter
So a little bit worried if indeed Canton Ticino raised any objection (but i am not sure what it would be as I have never lived there so practically no interactions with the cantonal government)

Married 6 years to a Swiss, I speak fluently FR and DE, I am a firefighter in my local town. Should nicely tick the integration box. | | | | | Got a letter last week from the immigration office in Kanton ZH asking :
- confirmation of good marriage
- confirmation that I am employed
- details on social life
It says it will now send the info to my Gemeinde which will ask me for an interview.
Qst: can this step take a long time?
Funny thing: They talked about the values of Switzerland in the letter I need to agree with, including “don’t kill people”.

I'm due a rebate, so I'm not sure what will happen in my case. |

If they need additional documents, they'll ask for them.

I prefer to have it all from the very beginning and avoid unnecessary communications at a later stage. Thank you though.

They might very well throw away your additional documents and ask for them later if they need them.

Anyway, i was interested in person‘s specific experience in this regard as fire department is not just a military organization in Switzerland but also an official employment at the Gemeinde.
