Non - EU Work Permit and Family Union Procedure

Hello Everyone,

I have read many similar threads but I still want to discuss my situation with people who had the same situation. Iím from a Non-EU country and I got offered a job in Zurich. Currently my company applied for work permit for me and now it is in progress ( almost one month passed ). According to the similar posts I read in this forum, most probably I would get B type work permit. Do you think probability of getting B type with permit is high for me ?.

Another issues related with my situation is about my wife . We have just married last week and during the time my company applied for my work permit I was single. So the question is that when/where and how I can inform the authorities that I got officially married ?. I need to know this because I think salary varies according to the marital status . Also , After getting my permit , my wife is going to apply for visa to Swiss embassy to move Zurich . Iknow my situation is a bit complicated but it is like this . I would be glad if you can give any information regarding to my case .

Thank you.

Re: Non - EU Work Permit and Family Union Procedure

a) how would we have the slightest idea how likely you are to get a B? It's entirely down to the individual canton and whether there are any B permits left from the quota limits.

b) a little bit here re getting your marriage recognised.

However, there is no automatic right to be able to bring your family here with you, even with a B permit. Again, it's entirely down to the cantonal authorities to decide whether you can or not and you'd have to prove a) you earn enough to support your dependents and b) your accommodation is suitable by Swiss standards.

Salary doesn't, taxes do.
