| | Re: Police came to take away my B permit | Quote: | | | | | Indeed. That's why email is not the usual way to get anything formal done in Switzerland.
All letters in envelopes from government departments mean serious business. They are never, as you put it, casual, and should not lie in the in box unattended.
And responses to them should never be by mail (unless specifically invited to use mail) but always on paper in envelopes, or by presenting oneself and all supporting documents to the relevant office in person, within the time-frame specified.
It is a very good point and lesson learned.
Thank you all for giving some tips and I will take them into consideration for next time.
Will probably write an update ones I get an answer. This time everything is sent by recommended letter and done with care and attention

At the end of the day lesson learned.
Also, its not a BIG deal. As you said, you have a Danish passport. You have a permit (albeit an L). You will get a new signed long-term contract, hence a new B. There really is no problem.
More of a headache and more paperwork for the bureaucracy who just annulled a B, to give you an L only to give you back a B whenever you get your new job...

| | Re: Police came to take away my B permit | Quote: | | | | | Long story short:
They sent you a letter two weeks ago telling you that they were going to revoke your B permit, and you had ten days to contest it.
You didn't, so they did.
End of.
Tom | | | | | Now it makes more sense! I am waiting for my own rejection letter to appeal, I was even given a warning it was coming so found it odd they would send zero warning in the canton next door.

To me, your letter is too long and rambling. It needs to be clear and succinct. Although I personally can understand that a police visit in front of your son is distressing, why mention your feelings about it? It won't change anything, and detracts from the essentials. There are also some French errors you could sort out.

But is that how they do things. Knock on the door while we have dinner and just take the documents. Seems pretty rough and was not expecting this in Switzerland.
I didn't even get a lettre recommandée from the migration office about any decision. | | | | | I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you, it sounds terrifying. Maybe it is normal here in Swiss paradise, but in most countries if the police come to your door it is quite a big deal.

Police came to our door because our neighbour had a car accident and remembered in hospital that he had left something at home simmering on the hob. | The following 2 users would like to thank Clocker for this useful post:

Switzerland is made up of a lot of small commnunities where people tend to know a bit more about each other than in some large anonymous city/town and there are local police forces that look over us to help avoid crime
I am more than happy theri is a police presence here, that we see them and they drive around or walk/cycle the streets as it keeps crime to managable levels as oposed to other places, such as the UK

The main problem is that you have been on Chomage for a too long period. At least from the cantons point of view. If your current contract is till end of April or gives you 4000 instead of CHF 2000 does not change much regarding the downgrade to L. But as long as YOU have income which can support your family you should be able to keep your L and do not have to fear to be kicked out of the country. Good luck with your upcoming job options. If possible, also look how your non-EU wife can get your nationality.

My wife has a Russian passport with a job contract ending end May.
If I have no Permit she can not stay as hers will be lost.
We been married for 12 years but impossible to get a Danish passport as we live abroad.

Do they have people to help with this? Here it's CSP if you google maybe they are in Valais also.
It's odd it's so quick in Valais, here 6-10 months it takes for any reply from the migration office.

Tom | | | | | The letter was dated Feb 1st.
But delivered by the police February 13th
I am very confused myself. Thing is the school in Switzerland ends later then April 28th. Our son doesn’t speak any Danish and I am suprised they don’t allow him to finish the school year or at least take it into consideration.
In the end we just going to stay here and my son will be at home. (8 years old)
Been living here since 2015. 1st year on L Permit then B Permit

As you are an EU national, shouldn't you get the permit again immediately once you have the new job?

The OP already confirmed this in their previous post. It was in the text of the email. The 10 days start from then. | Quote: | | | | | As you are an EU national, shouldn't you get the permit again immediately once you have the new job? | | | | | If the contract is signed and the salary which apparently is over Fr. 7'000.-- is enough to support 3 people (should the wife stop working completely), then this would be correct.
