Permit Application Receipt

Dear All,
On Friday I will go to Zurich's migration office to start the process of getting a residence permit. I understand I will have to take with me my work contract, my passport, address and photos. As I will start my new job on Tuesday, do they give you any type of acceptance/acknowledge receipt?
Many thanks,
Fabio

Re: Permit Application Receipt

There are huge differences in how things are done, depending on whether you are an EU or a non-EU citizen.
This sets it out quite well:

Hi

As far as I'm aware there's nothing more you can do but wait for the permit to come through the post. They will give you and authorisation form which allows you to open a bank account. Thats about it. I too am planning to do the same this week, in Zürich once my contract arrives ... the start date is this Monday!
