| | Doctor with EU recognized Diploma/ Non EU Citizen
I am ... a doctor graduated in Medicine and Surgery ... in Tirana, Albania. My university is conjugated with the University of Rome ... in which I have also sustained my habilitation exam this July. My productive and receptive abilities in standard and professional Italian language are as of level C1 of the European Frame of Reference as I have also completed my study program in Italian, so I am interested in working as a General Practitioner in the Canton of Ticino.
I have tried to reach the ticino canton at : info@ticinohealth.ch but never got a reply back.
Does anyone have similar experience ?
Any advise is highly appreciated.

I'd check with this organisation to find out exactly what you may need to do.

As a non-EU citizen, if their qualifications are good to go, and they find a job, (which the employer can’t fill with an EU/CH citizen) surely as long as the employer goes through the non-EU hiring process, then it’s all fine!

Still his diploma needs to be recognized and that is not always easy.

So he is left with an Albanian diploma which he needs to get registered in MedLeg before he is allowed to work in such function, and even if he gets registered it is not automatically that this registration would allow him to do such work, nor does it mean his diploma is recognised. It is a case to case outcome with unclear outcome on what is allowed even if registered. This also is likely to consume a lot of time, and stil he needs to land a job with an unrecognised diploma.

Alternatively, she could check out this thread on medical residency even if it's for the German cantons https://www.englishforum.ch/educatio...itzerland.html
OP, you must already know you'll not be allowed to have your praxis in CH unless you've already been through all these steps either here or in a EU country. Medical professions are highly regulated pretty much everywhere.

Period. No discussion, no exception.
Only due to the bilateral treaties with the EU and internal EFTA agreements, are foreign diplomas also accepted, but only if the diploma holder is an EU/EFTA person or married to such a person.
All others have to acquire a Swiss diploma https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/it/home...es-diplom.html |
