Temporarily subletting my place of residence on B permit (non-EU)

Hi,

I am studying in Zurich, have (non EU) B residence permit. I am renting a flat from WOKO (and this is the address that I used to register with the authorities).

This summer, I am going for an internship outside of Switzerland (and outside of Schengen area) for ~3 months (and then I am coming back to Zurich to continue studying). During this time, I want to sublet my flat to somebody else (so that I don't have to pay the rent) but still be registered at the same address (so that I don't lose my residence permit and continue to receive mail to this address).

What should I do in this case?
Do I have to somehow deregister myself with the authorities (I suppose deregistering would mean that I lose my permit, which I want to avoid) before a new temporary tenant moves in? Would it be OK if I don't deregister and a temporary tenant will use the subletting agreement with my address during their own registration?

Your registration has nothing to do with the intended subletting.
No need to de-register if you are simply away and intend to return within 6 months.

Sublet is normally possible and cannot denied if you inform the landlord about the condition. As your landlord is WOKO and those apartments are subsidized some special rules apply: http://www.woko.ch/files/documents/6...vermietung.pdf

Yeah, from WOKO's side that's OK, I was mostly worried about the authorities not being OK with two people (me and a temporary subtenant) being registered at the same address.
