I took my FIDE oral and written exams in July 2018. As Serena said, I was also tested for my oral skills by a rather friendly man and a woman. They first asked me to introduce myself. I was then asked to identify the correct response following some audio excerpts. The whole test, which lasted about 45 mins., is all about basic day to day conversational French - very straightforward.
For the written exam, I was again asked to identify the correct response to some basic questions - multiple choice to test your reading comprehension. I was also asked to compose some basic pieces of text - like writing an e-mail. Again, very straightforward.
I'm not sure of the passing marks - but, I can assure you that it is really hard to botch it up!
My timeline is here -

The audition with the Municipalite depends on your commune. Mine decided to do away with it and I just took the written exam.
All the best with your naturalisation process!

| Hi,
Anybody has any experience how the fide French oral B1 exam is like?
1) how long is it for?
2) what kind of questions are asked?
3) what’s the passing marks? Like in Delf you need 50 to pass but you need to pass in all sections.
After filing the naturalization what are the new steps in Canton of Vaud? Do you still appear in the commune (terre saint région) for an audition and what kind of questions are asked in that?
Thanking you. | |
