Internship Permit - Mandatory Document

Hi,

I have been accepted to an internship at a university in Lausanne. What I am worried about is the requirement that the internship must be mandatory. The university told me that I don't need a letter from my own university since I am coming through a programme and hence the hiring procedure is different. Is this true? Because wherever I looked online, it says that I need get such a letter from my university.

Another question is that, when one needs that letter, is it needed when applying for a visa (sticker) at the consulate or before, when the employer applies for the permit? Because the university said that they don't need anything (except passport copy, address etc.) from me until I receive the "authorization letter".

Lastly, what documents will I need when applying for the visa sticker at the consulate? I will be staying less than 90 days, but I couldn't find any information about applying for C visa with a work permit.

Welcome to the Forum. I don't have any answers but have a bump since you posted this around midnight Swiss time.

Re: Internship Permit - Mandatory Document

Thanks! By the way, I learned from former interns at the same place that "mandatory internship" is not a requirement. Maybe a special status for the university?

I am relieved about this but now I fear they might stop issuing permits and visas because of coronavirus. What a year this is...
