Hi,
I am an EU national currently working as a contractor in Switzerland. My contract ends soon and so is my L-permit. If my contract is not extended - am I eligible for unemployment benefits? I have 1 year work experience in Switzerland and before that - multiple years in a EU country.
The information I find on the Internet is that people with a valid Swiss residence or settlement permit are eligible for UB.
Here an L-permit is described as a special case -
short term residence permit. Therefore I have four questions.
1. Is my understanding correct that people with L-permit are not eligible for UB?
2. If people with a
valid L-permit are eligible for UB then what are the chances that
migrationsamt will extend my permit clearly knowing that I am unemployed and knowing that granting me the permit will make me eligible for UB?
3. Even if I somehow apply for UB - I know there are some unpaid penalty days added if I cannot prove that I was starting to look for a new job (which is the case) 3 months before end of my contract. Plus everyone also gets some unpaid waiting days. Does anybody know how-many days it can take in s similar case until one starts getting UB payments?
4.
Here it is said that the level of the UB depends on the salary subject to OASI. Working as a contract through a payroll company - is it full bruto sum I see on my monthly payslip or a different number?
Would like to hear from people with similar experience.
Thanks.
