Couple's who unmarried

Hello good day, I would like to ask what can we do right now because me and my Swiss engaged partner are facing an indefinite long distance because of pandemic covid, I'm from Philippines and supposedly will travel back to Switzerland using tourist schengen visa last end of March but unfortunately because of the covid the Switzerland already closed their airports for the person who will come there as tourist or visiting purposes, and they did lockdown. Right now we don't know when we could meet again because my country is close right now for the Foreigners only if they married to filipina the government will allow to enter also in my country. Right now we are thinking what kind of visa or permit will we applied for in able for me to let me in there in Switzerland, we already in a longterm relationship and I came in Switzerland every 3months yearly maximum of 6months stay there all in. and this year we plan to get married but unfortunately because of the covid - 19 we postponed it. And i cannot come there right now using tourist schengen visa,.can we apply for concubine permit and does it make sense that I can come there with this permit? Right now I have a valid unused schengen visa and the expiration would be this year. I hope somebody could help me give an advice in our situation thank you.

Unfortunately you will have to wait. You won´t be allowed to enter Switzerland without a permit but you can apply for one, however, as there is a huge backlog, that will take quite a while.

Your boyfrend should contact the authorities and he can then do what is possible.

Re: Couple's who unmarried

If you are really getting married then you need a fiance visa - your boyfriend needs to apply for this from the Swiss side.

Re: Couple's who unmarried

Nothing will happen with any permit applications until 15th June when the Swiss will start clearing the backlog. How soon they may start processing any new ones is anyone's guess atm.

As swisspea said if you plan to marry and have a definite date then a fiancée visa is what you/he need to apply for.

Do you have an idea if we can apply for concubine permit? And where to apply that? And how long it takes to get that? Permit And also about the marriage visa it would take 5-6months again the waiting if we apply if they will start the processing by after June 15th.

Any news about when the Switzerland authority alow unmarried couple to enter in CH?

Just want to ask if there's a new news now that the Swiss government start to consider now the unmarried couple to visit or join their partner in Switzerland? I'm from Philippines and my engaged partner is from Switzerland. Due to the corona virus the Switzerland country closed their airport to the foreign citizen like me. Are they start to consider unmarried couple to join with their Swiss partner? Thank you

Family reunification is allowed again from Monday. In practice I do not know what that means...

"Family reunification for family members of Swiss citizens is again possible. The same applies for family members of people from EU/EFTA states living in Switzerland"

Re: Any news about when the Switzerland authority alow unmarried couple to enter in C

In my understanding the Swiss government didn't consider family reunification unless they were already married. But how about the long term serious relationship I hope they start to consider the unmarried long term relationship to let their partner come in Switzerland. I still have a valid tourist visa that will expire on end of this year and just want to know what kind of visa I am allowed to stay there longer because if we decide to apply a marriage visa after this June 15th it takes again 5-6months the waiting. We already in a long distance again since last December when I went back in my country from there and supposedly will travel back again there last end of march but unfortunately because of this covid we are facing indefinite time to see each other again.

You will unfortunately have to wait until this is over, when the borders will be opened for everyone. Even if you now applied for a permit, it will take a long time to be processed as there is probably a huge backlog

I think Tom has said no it doesn't. It's not one of the cantons that offer it.

Have your significant other contact the cantonal migration office. If you really want to get married in Switzerland, I think you can apply for a marriage visa any time.

As for how long it takes? Who knows. In the past, up to 12 weeks was common. Now after Covid...probably longer.

Looks like Switzerland authorized non-married couple visits, but only from Austria and Germany so far. Does not help OP much, but maybe there will be a way to get into Switzerland before "anyone can enter again" situation.

Not if she has to board a plane. The SEM was very clear with us on that
