Expired permit-Leaving deadline 15th July-Travel ban still on- Any advice?

Hi all,

Situation:

My L permit expired mid-April. I'd applied timely for an extension and got a "here's why we're rejecting you" letter with an opportunity to respond before June 1st. I specifically made sure I could stay on during the interim period while I prepared said response. Now I have the final decision - no extension granted, departure before 15th July AND it says I've been here illegally since April (but I Asked about that! ) India (the motherland) has a travel ban in place until 30th June, and there's no word on whether it'll be extended or flights will resume in July. So far, they've announced each new phase pretty much the day the previous one ended, so...I know that people who are stuck here can get temporary visas at the migration office, but I'm not sure if I should approach them right away. a) I already pointed out COVID in my response letter and they didn't address it at all b) I don't have proof either way regarding flight resumption because the official notice only says that there's a ban until 30th June.

Questions:

1. I could just wait and go to the migration office when I know more, but my nerves are jangling with all the uncertainty. It would be a relief to have some leeway on the deadline so that I don't get rid of my apartment and all my stuff only to find that I'm stuck here in limbo for several more weeks...thoughts on how to handle?

2. Any idea if I would need some kind of visa even if I can leave in time? (Since they say I'm here illegally and the date on my permit is 15th April)

3. Any experience with booking of flights in anticipation of an open border? I did find some connections for early July but none of them clearly say "FULL refund if flight is cancelled" And they're all about 3x the usual cost of course...

4. How does not being sure of a departure date affect the deregistration process? What're the consequences of leaving after the date you tell them?

I'd appreciate all insights/comments/random thoughts. This post is not only seeking information but also reassurance - I'm definitely stressing way too much right now Thanks!

Obviously speak to them now, you know how long it takes to get stuff sorted here. Also speak to the Indian embassy and get their advice. Normally they give you 2 weeks to leave, I assume they’ve said 15th of July to give you 2 weeks from when it is actually possible to return to India.... so if that changes they will probably change things too.

There are many repatriation flights being organized by India from Frankfurt, Paris etc. Unfortunately no flight from Switzerland yet. Here is the schedule of flights under Phase-3 (10.06.20 02.07.20) of repatriation flights http://www.airindia.in/images/pdf/VB...0-1300-Hrs.pdf . These can be directly booked on AirIndia website.

Here is a video of Indians stranded in Switzerland leaving via Frankfurt to Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. It is posted by posted by Indian Embassy Bern.

Check with Indian Embassy Bern for more details on repatriation flights.
