Marrying a Swiss

Hello,

I'm from the UK and I have been living in Switzerland since 2013, currently I have a b-permit.
I am getting married to my Swiss partner early next year, we have been together for 6 years. I am wondering what type of permit I will get, will I lose my current b-permit and they will move me on a dependent visa? If we were to ever separate would I lose my right to stay here?

I haven't bothered getting my C-permit yet, it was my plan to get once I hit my 5 year anniversary but due to a death in my family, getting my language certificate was the last of my priorities. Unfortunately at this moment, I have no time to get it now, as work has been crazy busy.

No, you keep your current permit.

No, as you are not here on a dependent permit.

The only thing that will change is that you will have to start doing normal joint taxes.

Re: Marrying a Swiss

Not sure if this will be of any help, but... I moved here to marry my Swiss husband in 2009 and was given a B-permit. Then just a few years ago, that was automatically changed to a C-permit (I didn't even have to apply for the C permit).

I think that once you have C-permit status and/or have a child with your Swiss partner, then you are legally allowed to remain here in Switzerland even if you divorce. But someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that.
