Permit transfer from one to another citizenship

I have double citizenship.
Here in CH I am registered and have B visa as EU citizen.
From some reason I need to reduce to one citizenship. From another reason I must keep my non-EU citizenship.
Is it possible to convert my work permit from EU to non-EU? I am in CH 6 years long and have a job, never had any problem and newer was jobless.

Re: Permit transfer from one to another citizenship

Talk to your commune. One downside is that non-EU permits are in very short supply. There is a quota for each canton and these are well over subscribed.

I would imagine the Swiss would prefer you to have an EU permit.

Re: Permit transfer from one to another citizenship

Since you've been here for 5 years, is it possible for you to apply for a C permit now under your EU citizenship? Then after that if you want to change nationality it won't affect your ability to stay here. I would never suggest switching to non-EU before C permit unless you absolutely had to.

Thank you for your answers.
I was actually not aware that there is a big difference between B and C permit regarding this procedure. When I extended my B permit, it was offered to apply for C. Only missing document was German B1 exam.

Problem is getting a B permit as Non-EU is very difficult. If you want to change your nationality, they may ask your employer to go through the non-EU hiring process for you. Get your C now, as an EU citizen, then hopefully you have no issues.
