Simple way is aquire local business - that gives you permit to stay and work.

No, it doesn't. Owning a business here doesn't grant you residency rights. Any business would have to follow the non-EU hiring criteria and prove that they can't find a Swiss/EU national to do whatever job is involved.

I can't speak for all communes, or cantons.

I've not seen evidence that US citizens, or their money are any less welcome by the residents of Geneva.

Permits for third-country nationals (ie non-EU) are very limited and very difficult to come buy. Most will go to workers in jobs where a Swiss or EU national canít be found.

It is possible but it wonít be based on your wealth, it will be based on what you can bring to Switzerland.
