Non EU B permit extension papers - Power of attorney

Dear EF members
Due to covid iam stuck outside of switzerland and my b permit extension is due. Authorities asked me to submit in person at kriesburo they are not accepting postal application.Due to lockdown, iam not able to appear in person at the kreisburo. Though the authorities extended the time to submit.
I would like to know if I can make power of attorney/authority to someone/lawyer who can submit on my behalf.
Or is there any way to submit. Pls guide me

Why stuck? Switzerland will allow you to enter, so I expect they will expect you to return.

You are allowed to enter in Switzerland and will have to stay in quarantine if you come from a risky area. Therefore, no,reason to not renew your permit in person.

Have you got COVID? If you are just in quarantine due to travelling most countries will let you leave the country during this time!

Yes iam in quarantine now, I can travel after that and then I can submit the extension papers.
My question is through power of attorney is it possible to submit my papers now on my behalf so that delay can be avoided

Just call the commune. My B Permit was due for renewal end of April. But because of COVID, lockdowns, etc... I finally renewed it sometime in June.

I’d just give them a call - and explain your situation.

Your profile says you're Indian, so I assume you're there. I see two reasons why you'd be in quarantine:
1 - you have a positive test or have been exposed to someone with a positive test, or
2 - you have only recently arrived there

1 - If you're in quarantine since you're ill or have a positive test, make that clear to the Swiss authorities. Provide them proof of the test. Ask if they'd really like you to travel internationally right now and appear at the municipality in person.

2 - If you're in quarantine because you recently arrived, I've not seen any quarantines of 3 weeks. I've read from 7-14 days. There are exceptions/exemptions one can request if the person doesn't plan on staying very long in the country.

I've not read that a person needs a negative test in order to leave the country, although some airlines might request that.

I am not sure a power of attorney would work, unless it's already in place. POA have to be notarized in person. If you're truly in quarantine you should not be exposing anyone, not even a notary.

How much time do you have before the permit expires? Do you have an employer who might be able to intervene on your behalf?
