La Poste Collection Note

I applied to renew my residence permit approximately three weeks ago. Last week I received a collection note in my mailbox from La Poste. Two items were check, "large format" and (I think) "requires a signature." When I went to the post office to pick up the items, they only gave me the large format envelope. I pointed out that there was a second box ticked, but the employee said it was only the one envelope. Now I'm worried what will happen if there was indeed a second envelope (possibly my residence permit renewal) that I missed collecting. Will I get another notice? Will I have to go through the residence permit renewal again, fee and all? Any insight on what I should do would be appreciated- I'm panicking just a bit!

Re: La Poste Collection Note

Perhaps it was And, i.e It was large AND required a signature. I have never seen two different items on a single note. Could the envelope you received require a signature?

PS I’ve always picked up permits etc from the commune, never mailed.

Use their website and you can check.

It will take a few days if you don't already have a verified account, as they need to post you out an address confirmation.

Re: La Poste Collection Note

They often/usually tick more than one box for a package that requires a signature. I think it just depends on the individual postie who's doing the box-ticking.

What they never do is use a single delivery note for multiple items - each would be independently trackable with its own unique code, hence would need its own delivery note.

Re: La Poste Collection Note

This makes more sense than my version, I guess the permit is still on its way. I was a bit surprised that the permit may have arrived after just over 2 weeks anyqyas but default to the worst scenario. After a year in Switzerland I still regularly get confused due to my poor French.Thank you all for your replies and reassurance!

Even if you would miss the delivery, you could pick it up in most Cantons directly at the authoritiy's counter for an additional fee.
