Hello, I have managed to secure tickets for myself (American citizen Swiss resident) to go back to the US for the holidays. We are now trying to find out if my husband (Swiss citizen) can indeed apply for an ESTA and go with me. The embassy website, the famous Proclamation and the ESTA website all seem to suggest that this is possible. However we want to be sure before confirming the tickets. Obviously the embassy is closed now so I can’t call them until Monday (thanks to the airline for alerting me on a Friday night and giving me only twenty four hours to confirm ...) If nothing else I’ll confirm my ticket today and then do more digging next week and try to get my husband flights too, however I thought of the great English forum think tank and wondered if anyone has done this or is better than I am at reading these legalese documents.
