C permit

Good afternoon, I have lived 4 years with EU pernit B in Zurich and now I have found work in Luzern and living in Luzern. In September 2021 my B permit expires after 5 years, as I have changed the canton from Zurich to Luzern, does it make any difference for getting C permit ? One friend told me that now I will get C pernit after 7 years as I have changed the canton. Plz if somebody can clarify it,,thanks in advance.

Re: C permit

Your friend is incorrect. It's the total time spent in Switzerland that counts. As you will have 5 years and are exempt from needing a German language certificate, being an Italian national, you can ask for a C when you renew your permit.
