Working before residence permit (EU)

Hi. I am an EU national. I have a work contract for a company in Geneva, and actually I already started working for them remotely. It's a fixed contract for 6 months. I want to go Geneva ASAP. Apparently they will take 2-3 months to process residence permits. My question is, can I go to Geneva and just start working while they are processing the application? This would be on the basis that no registration is necessary for 90 days work. I can't find any information on this specific point. Has anyone done this? Thank you.
