Schengen Visa 90 Days

Hello All,

My girlfriend managed to enter Switzerland from New York City through the non-married couple rule. However, we were not too sure about the 90 day stay within the 180 day period rule. Does the 180 period begin and end based on the first entry date? or is it contingent on when she leaves, meaning that she has to leave for 90 days after her last day in Switzerland.

The reason why this came up is because she split up her 90 day stay into two legs due to work.

Any clarification or information about this situation would be much appreciated!

Thank you all in advance.

Andrew

It's 90 days of the 180 days ending today.

Re: Schengen Visa 90 Days

90/180 Schengen Visa Rule
The 180-day period keeps rolling. Therefore, anytime you wish to enter the Schengen, you just have to count backwards the last 180 days, and see if you have been present in the Schengen for more than 90 days throughout that period.

Re: Schengen Visa 90 Days

Thank you all, I figured it out from an old thread with a link to a calculator.

I understand the rule now, it is just difficult to do it in my head haha.

It's easy, just count the days in the past 6 months!
