How long would it take BE to issue family reunion visa for spouse of B permit holder

Hi everyone
I am a non-eu national, just arrived Switzerland and just registered at the Gemeinde. I was told that I need to register myself first then my wife's entry visa will start to be processed.
How long would it take typically? Do they start to work on my wife application after I register myself at the Gemeinde or they wait until my B-permit is issued (which would take another 4-6 weeks)?
I lived in CH for 3 years in the past, don't know it would help.
Thanks

I thought normally the spouse's reunification application is included as part of the employer's packet of info sent to the canton. Did your employer not notify the canton you wanted to bring a dependent?

Yes, my employer did include, but I understand that they don't process the spouse visa until I arrive and register at the gemeinde. Not sure if this is a new rule.

Ok, that could be. Here on EF, people's stories seemed to indicate the standard processing time (pre-covid) was 8-12 weeks assuming all paperwork was in order.
