I am in the process of getting B permit for the first time. I think I heard somewhere FBI report has to be less than 3 months old, but I am not sure if that is correct or not?



Would a six months old report work or not?

Have you committed a crime in the last 6 months? if not, just request a more recent certificate.

I was able to get a lot of information about background checks and different requirements using [internet searches]. I know someone else replied if you haven't done anything wrong within the last few months you can request a more recent certificate but I've found it always best to know for yourself what may come up ahead of time.

My cousin had an issue where someone else's information was somehow misfiled on background report and he had to work hard to get it all removed but he wasn't able to start his job until that was handled.
