Bonjour everyone. My spouse is French citizen working in Geneva and has permit G. I am non EU national. so I only have residence permit to live and work full time in France. we live near Geneva. Will it be provided a pemit G because of my spouse or not?

There is no automatic right to a G-permit due to marriage. Normally, as a non-EU citizen, you need to live within a border region for at least six months before you are eligible for a G-permit, and in any case, you would be subject to the same work permit conditions and quotas as any other non-EU citizen applying to work in Switzerland.

Afaik that is not the case for non EU? They will not get a G permit after 6 months living in that area, that is only for EU citizens.


As non EU you need to have a permanent residency before you can apply for a G permit.
