Canadianleafs has no particular reputation at present
living in US with EU husband in Geneva D visa

Thanks for your help here...

My husband had a medical procedure so I came on a tourist visa while my D visa/B permit was in process. It just got approved. I am on a working visa in NY and just left my job. I canít enter the US on my work visa anymore without the job.

Can I send my approved NY D visa to another Swiss embassy closer to Switzerland?

If not, to go back to the US to pick up my D visa... If I enter the US as a tourist, will the Swiss embassy in the US care that Iím no longer on a working visa?

Iím Canadian.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

If you're here then I'd have a word with the cantonal migration office and explain the situation to them, they may waive the need to pick up your D visa.

You could ask the embassy in the US to make it available at one in France, Germany, etc, but whether they will or not is up to them and the cantonal migration office.

And no, they won't care if you don't have a visa for the US, the Type D has already been approved and it's nothing to do with whether you're employed in the US or not.
