| | How long to hold Swiss nationality for spouse to get simplified naturalisation
Hello everyone, I'm currently on the last stage of getting the Swiss nationality and now my wife is becoming eligible to apply for normal naturalisation as well.
However my question is that is probably better for her to wait when me and our son will be already Swiss(hopefully this year)?
For how long husband should hold Swiss nationality, then wife can apply with the simplified naturalisation?

The spouse has to be Swiss before marriage for their other half to be eligible for simplified naturalisation. If you became Swiss after you married then she is not eligible I’m afraid.

Do you want to give it up again then? Or what do you mean with holding nationality?
And as IM said, you cannot apply for simplified naturalisation, just regular naturalisation.

why did you not do the whole family together? I would have applied for everyone at once, even if she was not strictly eligible at the time.
As pointed out, you have to be Swiss when you marry for her to take the easy path.

Until now the best answer I get from the Swiss authorities that she has to wait 3 years after I become Swiss. Now the question if she will apply immediately and wait about 2 years or she waits 3 years and applies on simplified way

AFAIK there is no simplified naturalisation when you got your Swiss nationality only after you were already married.

He is right! For simplified naturalization the nationality at the time of marriage counts. If at the time of marriage both partners were not Swiss then no SIMPLIFIED naturalization.
Obviously the NORMAL naturalization route still exists.
P.S- Don't groan at people when they reply to you with correct information.

It's a fact that I've personal experience of - that facilitated naturalisation is not possible if the person you marry is not Swiss at the time you marry. My experience is quite specific because the other person was in the process of naturalisation but it was not completed.
Your groaning because you don't like a correct answer that disagrees with what you want to believe is rather cockish.

Otherwise, the person you talked to is a clueless idiot! | | | | | Most likely clueless due to an ambiguous question, but not necessarily an idiot. It's easy to imagine from the language used earlier (the original thread title, for example, before I edited it) that the OP's question might not have been completely clear and contained all the salient facts. He clearly wasn't satisfied with the answer he got from them anyway, otherwise why ask the question here at all?

This is you who is insulting, not me
I just wanted to apply to the logical thinking and experience of someone being in the same situation.
Anyway my wife doesn't wants to wait and already got a folder for the normal application.
Thanks everyone
