Swiss student visa financial requirement

I have been accepted for a masterís degree in Switzerland. As you may know there is a financial requirement of proving that you have 21000 CHF in your bank account in order to get a student visa. While I have a portion of this amount in my bank account, I am planning to apply for a personal loan in my home country to meet the full portion of the financial requirement. Would funds in my account, deposited from the loan, negatively impact the decision of my visa? I.e could the canton not accept my proof of funds because a part of it comes directly from my loan.

Re: Swiss student visa financial requirement

They will care about your bank account statement. They won't care about where the money comes from. If you have 21k in your account, that's enough.

Re: Swiss student visa financial requirement

Thank you for your response. But won’t they care that it is a future liability?

No, every year when you re-new your permit they will require an account statement. If you do not the funds in you account, you will not be granted the renewal and be asked to leave the country. They do not care where or how you get the money, you just need to be able to support yourself.

Re: Swiss student visa financial requirement

Just send them a summary page with bank account total - they donít need to see the page that shows the loan deposit (not that theyíll care anyway).

Re: Swiss student visa financial requirement

Thank you for your response. Is it the same requirement every year? Or is the following one financial proof for 6 months?

Re: Swiss student visa financial requirement

It is yearly. Your permit is valid 1 year, when you renew, the migration office can ask you for financial proof.
