Working in different Canton on L permit

I am currently working in Bern on L permit and about to complete one year. I might be moved to a different role for which I will have to love to Zurich. Is it possible to work across different cantons on same L permit?

No, but your employer should sort that out.

Re: Working in different Canton on L permit

Your employer is going to have to apply to Zurich migration office for a new permit for you and explain why they can't find a Swiss/EU person who could do the job.

Yep, L permits for non-EU nationals are usually for a specific job/project so if an employer wants to change that - as it sounds like from the OP - then they have to apply for a new permit and follow the non-EU hiring criteria by proving they can't find a Swiss/EU national who could do the job.

What if nothing is going to chance except the location. Should whole process be repeated in that case too?

Yes, because it's a different canton and they would have to approve a new permit. They all come out of the various canton non-EU permit quotas.
