Carte de Legitimation vs Family B permits
Hi all,
I have a new one for 'everyone'.
Situation: my wife arrived in CH before me, sponsored by a company, and she received an L permit. This was due to quota on issuance for Croatian nationals. She will be getting a B permit shortly, along with our two kids.
Independent of this, I work for an international organization and have a Carte de Legitimation.
Ultimately we would like to, eventually, become permanent residents, C cardholders to Switzerland. While I hold a legitimation card, I understand this is impossible (until point of reitrement etc) for me.
But I understand a family holding B permits can apply for C after 5 years on the 'fast track conditions': "Successful integration of the applicant and family members aged 12 years and over;"
So my question, if anyone has experience on this, is how my status on the legitimation card would be considered in terms of "integration of [...] family members." Could my family still get C with me remaining on the legitimation card? Perhaps even though being on the legitmation card, if I can show a degree of integration (eg language skill at least) it would be enough...
I suspect the only way to get an answer on this is to ask the authorities, or get some legal advice. But I thought I'd try here first.
Thanks
